Community Service Projects:
The Rotary Club of Cleveland’s main area of focus for community service is education and literacy on the local level and clean water on the international level. Following is a list of things we supported for the 2007-2008 Rotary year.
Locally:
- 4-H Congress Delegates: paid for 2 delegates to attend the conference
- Boys/Girls Club of Cleveland: support financially
- Cleveland State Foundation: support financially
- James Bomar Foundation: support financially
- Junior Achievement: support financially
- Dictionary Project: purchased and presented dictionaries for all 3rd graders in the Cleveland/Bradley school systems and Tennessee Christian Academy
- Cleveland/Bradley Public Education Foundation: support financially
- Scholarship to a senior member of the Cleveland HS Interact Club: Interact is a Rotary club for high school students
- Two scholarships each year to graduates of the Cleveland Bradley County Adult Education/REACH Adult High School.
International:
- Provided financial support and one of our members traveled to Haiti in support of the Rotary Club of North River Chattanooga’s water well project.
